Daiwa Saltist 40

Out of nowhere few days back, i realised that I've never posted this reel on my blog :-p Bought this quite a while ago as a backup to the Accurate 665. But have only used it once for bottom fishing. Loaded it with 300yds of 50lbs P-Line and changed the knob.

hi , came across your blog while surfing for information on the Saltist 40, was wondering whether the real is suitable for jigging/bottom/trolling?
and how much is the reel cost now? did you bought it at kepong? mind to share some info to a newbie...

I think it's more suitable for bottom and trolling rather than jigging. The reel is quite wide... which makes it a bit awkward in terms of positioning... I think la...

Price... i really can't remember... yes i bought it at Sykt Kepong. All my reels from there.

Around the same price, I think the Avet SX is a better choice :) Love that reel.

hi... where did you get the knob? kepong? Got my self the 30T and would love to change the knob too.. saw a few knob which is similar in kepong that sell at 39. According to the sale staff that some modification have to be done to fit tht in. izit true?? please help... thanks

Got this knob from Kepong quite long ago. This is original Daiwa, so no need modification. Just fit straight. Those need mod ones are not ori Daiwas...
